Oh, my!  Thank you, Carol for this exciting idea and the excellent recipe.  I cooked Jonathan apples in the Vermont apple bakers that my friend, Jackie's mother gave me.  We had pumpkin ice cream with our baked apples. I felt very indulgent and blessed.  Everything was local except the heavy cream I used in the ice cream.  Yummy.
