When I went out to wind up this extension cord, I couldn't help but notice this perfect figure eight. I read that the name Crazy Eights dates to the 1940s, derived from the military designation for discharge of mentally unstable soldiers. I immediately then thought of Catch 22--one of my all-time favorite novels. My sisters and I used to play the card game of Crazy Eights for hours when we were young. Random thoughts on a brisk morning.
