Writer’s rest stop

highway rest area table, metal writing on sunscreen
Tiffin, Iowa, is just west of Iowa City, home of the Iowa Writer's Workshop. At the Tiffin rest area, each of the shelters had these stainless steel panels with quotations from famous writers. Outside the front door was an enormous pen point. Inside the walls were covered with names of writers and books, and a digital display ran across the ceiling with more quotations. It was great.

Have you read John Irving’s “Last Night in Twisted River”? That’s where I learned of that Writer’s Workshop. This is a unique rest area, I guess.
