Louie's salsa made from our tomatillos, onions, and peppers took 2nd place overall and 1st place for most exotic at the Farmers' Market Salsa Contest last Saturday! He gets $20.00 in tokens to spend at the Market. He said he'll buy me flowers. :)
The asparagus is producing red berries, and I think the plants look a lot like little, ferny Christmas trees. Looks like we'll have an abundant, healthy crop next spring.
So much to see in this photo! The Sea Basket has great fried scallops and lobster rolls, but is only open in summer. Note the gold leaf lettering - you don't see this on fast food joint signs often, but it's normal on the Maine coast. Big Al's, across the street, is a treasure trove of junk.
