From the basement

The stuff I keep! Here I am, in Dortmund, Germany 41 years ago. Hitchhiking through Europe on my honeymoon, Louie and I stayed with our friends, Klaus and Barbel. Louie and Jim Brothers met Klaus and Barbel when they careened through Europe in 1968. Barbel is coming to visit us here in Lawrence, Kansas next month.
The stuff I keep! Here I am, in Dortmund, Germany 41 years ago. Hitchhiking through Europe on my honeymoon, Louie and I  were on a mission to find and pore over all the original art that we could only look at in our art history books in college.  We were staying with our German friends, Klaus and Barbel, in Dortmund. We visited this lovely little museum in Dortmund.  We were the only patrons there. It was quiet.  It was cold. But friends and art warmed us thoroughly. Louie and Jim Brothers met Klaus and Barbel when they careened through Europe in 1968. Barbel is coming to visit us here in Lawrence, Kansas next month.

Unique Memorial

Tim was the manager of Liberty Hall for many years. When I had my hot dot cart downtown, he was a "regular." It was a privilege to have known him, and his loss will be felt by many for a long time to come. This unique memorial is in front of Liberty Hall as a tribute to him, and it is a sweet reminder of his legendary good humor and his firm but fair management. He was a good friend who always had a genuine smile and time for a "hello."
