The stuff I keep! Here I am, in Dortmund, Germany 41 years ago. Hitchhiking through Europe on my honeymoon, Louie and I stayed with our friends, Klaus and Barbel. The stuff I keep! Here I am, in Dortmund, Germany 41 years ago. Hitchhiking through Europe on my honeymoon, Louie and I  were on a mission to find and pore over all the original art that we could only look at in our art history books in college.  We were staying with our German friends, Klaus and Barbel, in Dortmund. We visited this lovely little museum in Dortmund.  We were the only patrons there. It was quiet.  It was cold. But friends and art warmed us thoroughly. Louie and Jim Brothers met Klaus and Barbel when they careened through Europe in 1968. Barbel is coming to visit us here in Lawrence, Kansas next month.

Three happy and relaxed friends (not dogs, Mollyavalon) after the field trip to the Monarch House.

Giulia and Giovanni with balloons from the balloon man. The Tour of Lawrence was wet! Note Giulia's medal. She and her brother raced in the kids' competition earlier.

Tim was the manager of Liberty Hall for many years. When I had my hot dot cart downtown, he was a "regular." It was a privilege to have known him, and his loss will be felt by many for a long time to come. This unique memorial is in front of Liberty Hall as a tribute to him, and it is a sweet reminder of his legendary good humor and his firm but fair management. He was a good friend who always had a genuine smile and time for a "hello."

Jim and Cindy's asparagus!! The circumference measures 3.5". We threw it on the grill. Yum!

This is the south pasture that burned so quickly that I missed it. Am I repeating myself? I liked the silhouetted figures. I believe that's Rick, Sam, and Dalton.

The gator hauled water and fuel and men. A real work horse. Note the smoke from the north pasture. I just didn't capture the dramatic fire. If we go out to the hills, I'll do better.
