tomato hornworm

Holy cow! This guy, and the two others I found, startled the daylights out of me. I've never seen such a huge worm - maybe 3 inches long and 3/4 inch thick. I threw them out in the native prairie. I'd been wondering who was taking bites out of the cherry tomatoes.

Concord grape arbor produced an abundant crop. Harvesting for grape jelly today. Maybe Louis will make grappa.

The prickly pear cactus is blooming. It's fruit is edible and doesn't taste too bad.

No sign of the captured rock yet. I bought these rocks! I am so thrilled with the way the sedem has taken root, and it has a delicate yellow flower now.

While the iris bloom, I am playing around with some imgaes. Stay tuned for more experiemental photos.
