The asparagus is producing red berries, and I think the plants look a lot like little, ferny Christmas trees. Looks like we'll have an abundant, healthy crop next spring.
So much to see in this photo! The Sea Basket has great fried scallops and lobster rolls, but is only open in summer. Note the gold leaf lettering - you don't see this on fast food joint signs often, but it's normal on the Maine coast. Big Al's, across the street, is a treasure trove of junk.
I am determined never to buy paper plates again. I went to the Salvation Army and bought every plastic plate they had, 31 in all. This was the most expensive, at $2.99. Worth every penny! The legend reads "University of Science and Technology Beijing 1952". I might not use it for cookouts. The little ribbon on the back indicates that it is suitable for hanging on the wall.
We went to Dairy Queen somewhere between Iowa City and Cleveland. Edzo got a Blizzard and I got a cone. Plastic taken in: spoon and cone holder. We threw it away.
