On this day, December 7, I remember with honor my cousin Pete. This is his memorial marker at Arlington Cemetery. Pete was a veteran of Vietnam, and he died in early July. Notice the hawk feather at the base of the stone. The Ft. Mohave Indian Veteran's group placed it there. Pete was deeply admired and loved. There is a hole in my heart that reminds me to live my life to honor those who didn't make it, and I include those who didn't make it back whole--like Pete.
Great! And the hawk feather is a new one to me.
